Webinar -- How Payers Define Value: What You Need to Know

Date: Wednesday, May 23, 2012
Time: 11:00am - 12:15pm CT

Program Content and Objectives

Healthcare reform has changed the rules of the game for key stakeholders across the industry -- from payers and manufacturers to healthcare providers. Under the gun to slow the growth of treatment costs, payers are moving beyond their traditional roles to more directly influence provider and manufacturer decision-making to "bend the curve."

Regulatory approval, physician preference, and patient demand are no longer enough to justify premium pricing for new products. Pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers face an increasingly challenging environment, and many are asking how they can better influence payer decisions and plan for this new environment.

This webinar will provide key insights into the answers to such questions - like how payers are defining value, and strategies manufacturers need to consider to ensure success moving forward. Key topics will include:
  • Specific challenges payers face in today’s environment

  • Strategies that payers and providers are considering and implementing to control costs

  • Implications of these strategies for pharma and device manufacturers

The session will offer experience-based insights into payer strategies and how manufacturers can more effectively plan for future success. Participants will take away a new understanding of payer concerns and likely changes that could impact product reimbursement. We’ll discuss steps companies can take to address emerging payer expectations and decision criteria to ensure optimal reimbursement and market access.

The 75-minute session will include a 45-55 minute discussion and review of these critical issues, and 20-25 minutes for live Q&A.
